Headshot Percentage in CS2: When 70% HS is Legit and When It's Not

Is high headshot % proof of cheats? Not alone. Learn legit ranges for HS%, accuracy, and why consistency across weapons matters more than raw percentage.

The Precision engine is the most misunderstood on CS2Scan. A 68% headshot rate looks suspicious until you see it's all AK and Deagle on a Rifler main with 3,000 hours.

Normal HS% ranges (from our population)

  • Average CS2 player: 42-54% HS%
  • Rifler / entry main: 55-65%
  • AWP hybrid who taps: 45-58%
  • Deathmatch / HS-only grinder: 60-72% is plausible

  • 75% across all weapons including SMGs and LMGs: rare, needs context

CS2Scan doesn't flag high HS% alone. It scores:

  1. HS% per weapon class — is it high on everything?
  2. HS% vs. accuracy — 80% HS with 12% accuracy = weird, because you're whiffing most shots but every hit is a head
  3. Sample size — 200 kills at 70% means less than 5,000 kills at 70%

Accuracy tells more than HS%

Accuracy = shots hit / shots fired.

  • Legit average: 18-26% overall
  • Good aim: 26-32%

  • 38% overall across rifles + pistols + SMGs: outlier

  • Same accuracy on Negev, AWP, and USP: inhuman. Humans have weapon-specific spreads.

This is what the Accuracy engine checks: cross-weapon-class consistency. A cheater using silent aim will have similar hit rates on weapons that should have very different recoil profiles.

Three examples

Legit pro-style: 62% HS, 28% accuracy, 85% of kills on AK/M4/Deagle, low SMG accuracy. CS2Scan Precision: Slightly Elevated, not flagged.

Legit grinder: 71% HS, 31% accuracy, 12k kills, 90% HS-only DM. Efficiency high, Anomaly moderate, Network clean. Score stays low because friend graph is clean.

High-risk: 74% HS, 36% accuracy, identical accuracy on all 12 weapons, 30% of friends banned, new account. Even with low confidence, Network + History push score high.

Takeaway

Never accuse on HS% alone. Look for:

  • Consistency across dissimilar weapons
  • Low sample size
  • Friend ban density
  • Private profile hiding counter-evidence

That's why CS2Scan shows per-engine scores, not just one number.

Test it: Paste a pro player's Steam ID (e.g., s1mple, ZywOo) — you'll see elevated Precision but clean Network. That's the difference.
